Jim, not trying to be rude, but aren’t you concerned about pledge drive overload with threads like these? The current method (donations) aren’t working. I think you have a notion of banner ads as being dangerous or hazardous? Look at Drudge. He uses them and makes a profit. I think you can too.

It’s not my thread. The current method is working fine. We’ve never had a problem of reaching our goals and if we’ve ever needed to fund special projects or systems upgrades, the FReepers have always come through.

I have other reasons to avoid going commercial, mainly that it would clamp down on our freedom to post and increase the possibility of being sued.

Other than that, I wouldn’t know what to do with all the money.
