Parents should have signed up for the “other arrangements.” One parent comes in at 8, the next at 8:30, then 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, through the principal’s lunch hour, then continued through the afternoon, the next day, the next several days, the next several weeks, and on through until the end of the year. Of course, they could have stopped this by attending a school board meeting and calling for a mass firing of administrators. Parents have forgotten they have the final say in how the school is run.

Excellent point. They've also forgotten who is responsible for the education of their children.

HINT: it's not the state.

“Parents have forgotten they have the final say in how the school is run”.

...they haven’t forgotten. They’re scared of schools because of what they may do to their precious’ grade. Plus, the Dads are mostly metrosexual sissies that don’t want to “make waves”. The Moms are mostly liberals who like the control the school has so they can work, get manicures and just generally get the kids out of their hair.

Like hell. The people who have the ‘final say’ in how schools are run are the people that pay the teachers, and that is NOT the parents (at least at public schools). It is the legislatures, school boards, and the federal Department of Education. Parents a necessary annoyance as far as the schools are concerned and should just learn to shut up.
