BRISBANE, Australia For weeks, the flooding in eastern Australia has been a slow-motion disaster, with drenching rain devastating wide swaths of farmland and small towns. Now, rivers are rising in Brisbane, the country's third-largest city, forcing people to flee both suburbs and skyscrapers.
Flooding that has unfolded since late November across the waterlogged state of Queensland turned suddenly violent Monday, with a cloudburst sending a raging torrent down the Lockyer Valley west of Brisbane. Hundreds had to be rescued by helicopter Tuesday.

This is a pic off the Courier Mail news site, dude jumped into the water to rescue a little roo to the cheers of many standing by.
Friends in Brisbane told me last night that at one point they got 80mm (3.14inches) in a half hour. Officials said that some areas were estimated to have had 200mm (7.8 inches) during the same 30-minutes.
People were being air lifted from the city by air. This is a 500 to 1000 year flood.
"Good on ya, mate!"
The guy is wearing a wedding ring, kind of unfair to his family to risk his life for a critter.
I am sure he didn’t do it on a whim like your comment inferred. Compassion in catastrophes isn’t always limited to people. Besides one could make the same comment if he saved a person he wasn’t related to. The same danger would have applied.
That ‘roo is stuned. Normally it would be fighting back
I believe when he was asked why he did it he said (paraphrase)'that's what Aussies do'
“Besides one could make the same comment if he saved a person he wasnt related to.”
I wouldn’t.
Another point of reference is that the area of Queensland is between 2 and 3 times the size of Texas.
Did I say you would? No. I said others could use the same logic you used and say it would be unfair for him to risk his life for someone NOT in his family.
Notice you didn’t want to address the other points, that’s fine for you.
Could this flooding be a result of the weather seeding in Dubai?
Good question..
Over 50 spurts of energy were injected,, not sure what the effective range is of the ionized air or lifespan.. hmmmm?
I checked a trade wind map, and it doesn’t look like there is a strong connection. But it would be interesting to see if the wind patterns have been different over the last moth.

“The Queensland government’s access to the rain-making technology, developed by King Bhumipol over the past 30 years, came a year after the state approached the royal household last year.”
“As a result, Queensland is set to be the first major region outside Thailand where the rain-making technology will be put into full effect.”
It worked.
In Australia they wear their wedding rings on their thumbs. The Metric system and all.
