National Review Online ^ | 1/11/11 | Lou Dolinar

The While House oil-spill commission made it official today: The entire oil industry, not BP, is evil and potentially the source of another Deepwater-sized spill. Thus the entire oil industry, which has already been punished by the administration with its drilling moratorium and slowdown in permitting, should be punished further with massive new regulations and fees. Those conclusions were virtually predetermined when the administration appointed a panel heavily stacked with academics and environmentalists. And those findings are wrong. Why? Well, as numerous people pointed out when this Obama Spill Commission was announced, NOT ONE of them knows a damned thing about offshore drilling. NOT ONE.

They are all envirofreaks, with zero expertise in the oil business.

and they proved it with almost every word of the report.

The conclusions are predictable. We are lost until we are rid of this administration and we may not recover after they are gone.

At this point I predict that $5.00 gasoline will be something you wish for. I’ve been in the oil and gas business for 35 years, brace yourselves.

5 is the low end. I hope it is only 5. Bright side...5 will get rid of Obama.

Should a conservative president ever appoint a commission on academic malpractice -- without any participation by academics, there would rightly be a shriek of outrage from academia.

Accordingly, all of FreeRepublic will demand that the president nominate you to serve.

BP made a deal with Obama for 20 billion dollars into his slush fund...implicate everyone..not just them and Obama can have the 20 billion. Where is that 20 billion dollars anyway? Anyone know? How much of it went into the pockets of envirowacko think tanks and such? How much of it went into dem coffers?

Curious, now that you mention it. What DID happen to that money?

It’s a good thing the press keeps on top of these things, eh?

Screw the press....the new leadership in Congress is gonna get to the bottom of it. Issa is chomping at the bit. He is just playing it cool right now, but he is holding a royal flush.
