Depending as to where the ship is actually located. It is easily between 700 miles to a thousand miles south of the outer fringes of the Artic circle. Third straight year we shall see brutally cold extended cold freezes across Europe, Asia, as well as northern USA.
Big Al Gore must be huddling in his new pacific mansion wondering where to go from here.

He could rent Charlie Rangel’s place in the tropics. Nice and warm there. Yet.

I had a “Ski Mauna Kia” t-shirt from the last time I was there, 1977. It snows on Mauna Loa and Mauna Kia every winter. Nothing new with on those mountains.

Kia should be Kea. And I meant, “nothing new with snow on those mountains”.

The snow coverage of the continental US as of January 11th 2011 is below. We currently have 69 % coverage and we will probably be at least 70 % the morning of the 12th depending on how much melts in the deep south.
Now it took us to February 13th to get that much coverage last year. Image below is February 13th 2010. So this winter is about 1 month worse then last winter. Which of course explains December and probably the last 3 weeks of this month.

And then we look at the rest of the northern hemisphere. Either similar surface conditions, are if not snow covered, damn cold. I have not noticed any latest reports of how many souls have perished to the winter conditions since say the end of November of this past year to now.
The toll on human and wild and domestic animals not to even get involved in how many animals, mammals and fish have died over the past few months in very cold waters.
The ammunition for both the sane on both sides of the Hill grow as to why we must curb the EPA for starters if they try to go further in the emission schemes. As well as getting rid of the climax czar for starters.
Then we can look back to this past winter in the southern hemisphere how much snow and cold weather they got in areas such as South America that never saw snow before or have not for a very long time.
How bad Goldman Sachs, GE and the rest of them along with the Carbon Trading Exchanges etc., must be feeling.
The gig just may soon be up. If sane minds can endure on both sides of the Atlantic and Pacific within governments.
Time will tell. I won't hold my breath. But who knows.

I hear Al Gore is sending his personal Yacht, the S.S. Global Warming, to lend a hand to the Ruskies.

Well thanks for that information. Hopefully others will also become aware of that fact. I did not think it snowed that often in that mountain range. Good I learned something new.

You can certainly find links to many cold weather examples on iceagenow.com. Trying to keep a link list together via book marks myself. This year is very active, unfortunately. Heck iceagenow.com changes almost twice daily right now. Will probably be that way until this winter ends. Perhaps in early April if we can get an El Nino with no major Volcanic eruptions. The sun is still on siesta.

I have it bookmarked with dozens of other related sites. Have not frequented many of them over the past year or so. Thanks.
I occasionally will go to icecap, WUWT, and climate gate for quickies. Well you got my last response for today’s go around. I have to hit the rack and prepare in the morning to dig out of what looks like will be about 8” of new snow in my area. Do have a great upcoming day.
