My Parents were Washington State nudist all through the 1960s and 1970s taking us 5 kids with them on many of their weekend trips and summer excursions to the, WA, CA, OR, and B.C. clubs. Not sure how it is today, but at the time we went it was very family friendly and safer than my Dad’s Elks club where there were real weirdoes. In the 17 or 18 years us kids went we never had any problems. Not one. The clubs took interviewing new members very seriously, and if there was any doubt at all, they were denied membership. The clubs officers knew one bad member could bring down the whole club.
Now would I take my 9 year old child to one today? No way. This is not the 1960s. I am bothered with him just walking two blocks to his little friends house alone.

I’m not a prude, but I just can’t see mixing nudism with kids. You obviously turned out well and didn’t have any issues, albeit in another time.
To quote Charles Manson when asked a few years ago if he was crazy -

Well I have. (see post 29) and I take issue with the nudist are all fat and ugly comments I often see on these threads. Back when my parents were members (1960s and 1970s) the clubs had much prettier girls than in my public schools. And they were much friendlier too. Many became close friends, where the pretty girls in the public schools would not give you the time of day.
Hmmmmm.... Really, now. Just how many days out of the year would you want to be a nudist in Sultan? Most of the times I have driven through there it is cloudy and either raining, has just rained, or is going to rain. I think if I was going to be a nudist I’d rather go to Hawaii....
But the older folks can blame the rain and wet for wrinkles rather than their age. A great selling point.

Again, my experiences were from a different time long long ago. In 2011 I am a bit shocked that they are still aloud to operate by today's laws.
There is only about three weeks a year that one could comfortably run around outdoors sans accouterments.
