The term "blood libel" is inflammatory and strange, and pretty much guaranteed to suck up all the attention. It makes her sound just like what she was accused of being -- someone whose rhetoric incites crazies to murder.
You'd think she would have figured out by now, that she needs to be careful of what she says, and how she says it.

It was meant to create a literal lynch mob. They want Palin dead.

And I don’t mean that in a good way.
Only to the ignorant, the uninformed or those with an axe to grind.
And I say this as someone who is not the biggest Palin fan. I think her critics are her biggest asset. If you would ditch your Pavlovian response to every word she utters, she would largely recede from the national political spotlight. But you can't help yourself. Your unhinged response makes her a more sympathetic character.
