Indeed, it is. It’s an attack not only on Palin, Rush et. al, but on everything who listens to them or thinks like them.
In other words, it’s a full frontal attack on all of US.

It couldn't be more apt.
It is the use of a false accusation of murder to incite persecution against the accused.
Knowing the history as well as I do, the term popped into my head immediately upon hearing the allusions to Sarah Palin.
That Mrs. Palin, an Alaskan self-described "hockey mom", could pull out this apt analogy from the depths of a generally forgotten history, shows remarkable depth. If someone else provided her the words, she's made a good choice in using them.
I still don't think she's qualified to be President.
