Partially correct - “Blood libel” refers to the medieval Christian accusation that Jews killed Christian children and used their blood for matzos. But, today it is often used to describe False Accusations, which is the way Sarah used it.
I’m betting quite a few “journalists” had to look the phrase up to get the gist...or at least ask someone.
; )
False accusations by which the accused are said to have at least metaphorical blood on their hands—which was exactly the case here.
Thanks for the explanation. I hadn't known where it came from. Seems a completely appropriate term.
Which means, of course, that the lefties will interpret it in its literal meaning rather than the metaphorical way she meant it. Just like the word "target".
Which any thinking person would understand and appreciate.
I imagine anyone not familiar with the origins of the term but equipped with reasoning skills would associate it with all false criticisms spewed by the leftists after the spilling of so much innocent blood.
The original use of the term involved the spilling of innocent blood also.
Wow that JOURNOLIST talking point went out really quickly....same exact thing AOL said....way to go journolista’s.
Sarah is right.
