After blaming the tea party for the mass slaughter on Saturday one tea party leader is receiving death threats. The sheriffs office told Tucson tea party leader Trent Humphries to stay home.
The Tuscon Tea Party leader started receiving death threats since the shootings at the Safeway on Saturday. Talking Points Memo reported, via Free Republic:
Trent Humphries, the leader of the largest tea party group in this mourning southern Arizona city, has nothing but praise for the way President Obama has led the nation through the aftermath of Saturdays mass shooting at a constituent event for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ). But Humphries wont be there tonight when Obama speaks at a memorial rally intended to unify Tucson after six people were killed in the tragedy.
Humphries says hes been getting threats at his home from people who seem to hold him and his organization partially responsible for the shootings Saturday.
Humphries told TPM hes called the Sheriffs department more than once in the past few days to make them aware of threatening phone calls.

That's what they want. Glenn, and others, have been warning us against taking any action, because the want us to take action. That'll give them all the reason they need to clamp down.
And other Republicans being forced to resign...
This needs to be sent to all in media. etc. THis makes me so mad!
The fuse is lit. It’s only a matter of time before it hits powder.
Headline seems a tiny bit misleading. Humphries called them “threatening phone calls”. No use of the word “death”.
I’m sure Deputy Dupa would **love** it if conservatives stayed home. Then you’d hear about how many Tea-Partiers stayed home.
Case closed. Any fair judge would need no more evidence.
They were SO hoping this Loughner was a “right wing Tea Party nutcase” so that they could use the power of the state to persecute their ideological opponents.
Pacifism in the face of overt aggression will not win this fight.
MSNBC-especially Chris Matthews- has a big hand in this.
Not surprising after three days of the MSM, Dem pols and “Oatmeal for Brains” Sheriff Dupenik doing everything they can to foster hatred and anger towards TEA Party conservatives.
At this point in time I personally do not trust Sheriff Dupa to be a Crossing Guard.
Tea Party members have demonstrated that we solve problems at the ballot box.
Liberals, Progressives, Socialists? Well you decide.
Who has engaged in violent acts so far? Liberals or conservatives?
That'll give them all the reason excuse they need to clamp down.
I think you mean 'excuse.' The left has been stretching credibility to the enth degree for years trying to blame every act of violence on conservatives and then they call for more restrictive laws on firearms and speech. That indicates that they already have a reason for clamping down. Their premeditation is clear.
Sound familiar ?
No one’s recommending you not defend yourself against aggression; Glenn carries a gun, I carry a gun.
If you’re ready to march out and start a war, a revolution, go ahead — that’s fine — see where it gets you, and the country.
Hey, I don’t disagree with you one bit. But, if you think revolution’s the answer, a war in the streets, I disagree.
They’re desperate, and on the ropes. One more election and they’ll lose power for decades. Their insane ramblings, nonsense, and violence damages their brand more and more every day.
There’s a war coming, all right, but it’s at the ballot box in 2012; the upcoming election may be the most important we’ll ever see.
Anthony Miller was a McCain supporter in the recent Senate race and apparently believed that the Tea Party was responsible for the shootings on Saturday, and resigned before they came to shoot him. What an idiot.
