After blaming the tea party for the mass slaughter on Saturday one tea party leader is receiving death threats. The sheriffs office told Tucson tea party leader Trent Humphries to stay home.
The Tuscon Tea Party leader started receiving death threats since the shootings at the Safeway on Saturday. Talking Points Memo reported, via Free Republic:
Trent Humphries, the leader of the largest tea party group in this mourning southern Arizona city, has nothing but praise for the way President Obama has led the nation through the aftermath of Saturdays mass shooting at a constituent event for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ). But Humphries wont be there tonight when Obama speaks at a memorial rally intended to unify Tucson after six people were killed in the tragedy.
Humphries says hes been getting threats at his home from people who seem to hold him and his organization partially responsible for the shootings Saturday.
Humphries told TPM hes called the Sheriffs department more than once in the past few days to make them aware of threatening phone calls.

Not the Tea Party but a Black Rino and a couple of others in Arizona are claiming they got death threats and are quitting their jobs. Rinos are trying to eat the Tea Party.
I think they are angry over losing the battle over immigration enforcement. He resigned in time for Obama’s show. He did not present any evidence like a police reports documenting death threats so I don’t beleive him.
The fuse was lit sometime ago. The only question is what is on the other end. A fire cracker or a bomb.
I think it is inevitable. Especially if every accusation they make is met with mea culpas and other submissive gestures. I expect Republicans will have an historic victory in the 2012 election. I don't think it will solve the problem of the increasing dissolution of Constitutional rule. More to the point, it won't stop liberals from provoking violence. I expect them to increase it.
More like house arrest.
Kinda like the gestapo making the Jews stay in the ghetto.
What really puzzles me though is that you ignored both of the points I originally made to you and instead replied based on an assumption that I want a revolution. An assumption that is entirely erroneous FWIW.
My apologies, TigersEye — I misunderstood, and I’m guessing now you were saying a war is coming, but it’s coming from the Left.
I did agree, however, with your initial points — that the violence and rhetoric comes primarily from the Left, and they’ll use any excuse to push their agenda. I agree completely, but misunderstood the intent behind your post.
And I agree they’ll continue — even ramp up — the rhetoric, tantrums, and violence, but it’s nothing new; they’ve been doing it for time on end, especially when they’re out of power.
However, they can win without anyone firing a shot if they can intimidate enough of us into staying at home. If 0bamaCare is not soundly repealed it will be all over. The economy will fail, medicine will be forever ruined and the philosophy of law will turn away from individual liberty to collective rights. That change in legal philosophy will not remain confined to matters of health care. We will know if 0bamaCare survives before Nov. 2012.
They write laws they have no business writing. They ignore the laws meant to check their power. They send their agents out daily to enforce those edicts even even it means entire families die.
But sure, let's go the "Buddhist monk on fire" route. That'll show 'em...
