"At the memorial service for the victims of the shooting in Tucson, Arizona, President Obama said that Rep. Gabrielle Giffords opened her eyes for the first time after his (Wednesday) visit.
It was the first time she had opened her eyes since the shooting that wounded her Saturday outside a Tucson grocery store. "We all started crying," Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) said in a phone interview from Air Force One later Wednesday night. "Other than the birth of my children, it was the most incredible moment I have ever had."
Also in the room were Sen. Kirsten E. Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)

The room was hushed has President 0bama entered. The beeping of monitors the only sounds. As he gave instructions to the surgeons, attending physicians, and nurses, he inadvertently brushed against Congresswoman Gifford’s finger tips with hem of his garment. In that moment, as if time itself stood still, the room brightened and Gabby opened her eyes to gaze upon his countenance.
What arrogance Obama has..it defies imagination. Making it appear his presence caused her to open heer eyes. Next thing you know he’ll be raising the dead somewhere.
The problem is the John Q Public is still drinking his kool-aid. They gave Obama the audiance he needs to thrive on tonight. Now he’ll take this home and pur-ur all night long. Contented that they still love him.
President Obama said that today she opened her eyes for the first time since the shooting, Either Dr. Peter Rhee or President Obama is a lying evil charlatan seeking personal gain from this tragedy. However, Dr.Peter Rhee has nothing to gain from his statement. Of the two individuals, who do you think is lying?
We cannot underestimate the impact the massacre will have on Gabrielle Giffords. Prayers up for the Representative - may her healing include peace of mind, wholeness of spirit, and the best physical recovery possible.

From what I gather the people at the memorial who were giving Obama the ‘on high’ applause would probably say the doctor was just being wishful talking.
