Leaders of the religious right say its time to restore America to the constitutional principles that made it great and are lining up to endorse Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann for the Republican nomination for president michele,bachmann,president,2012,religious rightin 2012, the Minnesota Independent reports.
Some tout her as the next Ronald Reagan with a twist. Religious leaders supporting her include Matt Barber of the late Jerry Fallwells Liberty Council, who said, To date, no man has succeeded in filling the conservative standard-bearers legendary boots. Well, maybe its time to swap boots for pumps.
Like Reagan, Barber added, Bachmann values principle over popularity.
She has been a stalwart in advocating on behalf of constitutional conservatism. Shes chairwoman of the House Tea Party Caucus and has put her money where her mouth is, voting consistently in Congress to limit the size and scope of government, fortify national security and protect life, liberty and the natural family.
Other religious right leaders who would like to see Bachmann eschew a potential Senate run for the White House include Larry Klayman, the former founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, who called Bachmann the one truly principled politician who can unite conservatives, libertarians, independents, tea partiers, people of faith and any American who truly believes in constrained government, fiscal and individual responsibility, a strong national defense, life, and yes, freedom under God!
Conservative Joseph Farah, founder of WorldNetDaily, said Bachmann exudes leadership more than anyone since Reagan.

MB2012 PING
The Religious Right isn’t going to endorse the Huckabilly? If so, this is wonderful news. I could get behind a Bachmann run unlike Romney or the Huckster.
The religious right not only loves her, but so do the tea partiers.
It looks like some conservatives are starting early to unite behind one candidate.
A couple minutes ago on The Factor, Dana Perino said she doesn’t think Bachmann considers herself a Presidential candidate. I guess we’ll have to wait at least a couple months to find out.
My guess is she won’t run if DeMint decides to run. But I’m darn glad she’s giving it serious thought.
Dana Perino, as cute as she is, gets most things wrong.
My cat has a better chance of becoming President. Why don’t you folks stick with Duncan Hunter?
Times have changed. There will be no milquetoast RINOs leading the pack this time.
This woman has impressed me from the first time I heard her speak. I mention her in every one of the GOP - pres threads we’ve had since Obozo won. She’s a true conservative to the core, and more electable than Sarah, IMO. I’d get behind Bachmann in a heartbeat, whether she’s the Pres or VP nominee.
Didn’t say anything about a Rino. I do know that Bachmann couldn’t carry Mississippi.
Of all the people that are at least considering running, she’s on of four I can easily support for VP or POUTS. The others are Pence, DeMint and Cain. The rest range from just OK to horrific.
Sure she could.
I like Bachmann, but Palin is going to win the presidency.
Palin 2012.
Because we don’t want your cat to be Prez... as cute as he/she may be.
; ~ )
Thanks for the ping, this is a VERY interesting development, indeed.
Pence / Bachmann would be an awesome ticket, IMO. DeMint impresses me too...don’t know much about Cain (yet).
