McCain lauds Obama as a 'patriot' (*BARF*)

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) — one of President Obama's most strident critics — praised the president's speech in Arizona at a memorial service for the victims of the Tucson shooting spree.

The Arizona senator and Obama's 2008 opponent penned an op-ed in the Washington Post, saying Obama "comforted and inspired the country" by calling for greater civility in the nation's political discourse.

"I disagree with many of the president's policies, but I believe he is a patriot sincerely intent on using his time in office to advance our country's cause," McCain wrote. "I reject accusations that his policies and beliefs make him unworthy to lead America or opposed to its founding ideals. And I reject accusations that Americans who vigorously oppose his policies are less intelligent, compassionate or just than those who support them."

It was a political speech on the coffins on the murdered innocents.

All of that cheering must have rattled what remained of his brain.

Disgraceful and unconscionable that he enjoyed it!
A decent man would have realized that applause and cheering was improper.

Can anyone explain what Obama meant when he urged the nation that we must “sharpen the instinct for empathy”

Empathy is a libtard code word for social justice and altruism. Many people are confused by it and think it means the same thing as kindness and benevolence when actually it means parasitism and oppression.

Like many other political/social conservatives, I realized John McCain was a total fraud and a closet Democrat years before he was, regretfully, nominated by the Republican party as their 2008 presidential candidate. I expected him to lose, although I voted for him because I wasn’t going to forgo my constitutional right to vote and I couldn’t vote for the communist, Obama. So, this latest butt-kissing of Obama by McCain isn’t much a shock to me, just the millionth piece of evidence that McCain is not on our side. I’m sorry Sarah Palin felt compelled to help him win re-election to the senate but even so, McCain is likely be retired - on his own or by nature - soon. For now, I can ignore his predictable fawning over Obama because it’s just what John McCain, a phony throughout his long political career, does.

Whatever moral standard McCain used to hold himself to, he’s thrown them out the window. His one and only concern is getting elected and he’ll say and do anything he think will help.

He’s the worst kind of politician. At least unabashed evil has a plan, McCain is just... kinda pathetic.

Yes, it’s a chess game alright. Perhaps someone tell McCain to quit trying to stack his checkers every time he touches the Democrat base-line.

This as a defection? You mean you actually thought some Republicans might think he was coming back? Not hardly.

He’s lock stock and barrel sold his soul to the Marxists. He’s an unmitigated ass.

“BARF” is not exactly the word I’d use. More like “spew” or “ralf” or maybe even “PUKE!”

McCain seems to be his own biggest admirer. He needs to quit and get a life.

Thanks. I love AZ and have quite a few family members still there...trying to maintain their conservative views. Stop using blanket judgements when you’ve only heard of one or two people who are in opposition to your views.

Oh, please. How maudlin.

Our politicians don’t just represent the lowest common denominator, they *ARE* the lowest common denominator.

McCain is just showing his gratitude for being omitted from the Left’s vitriolic murder-inducing hate speech list.

After all, one hand washes the other.

Of course, when the chips are down the ‘elites’ will rally together to protect their power.

He hated Bush and did everything he could to stop Bush’s agenda but he loves Obama and does everything he can to help Obama’s agenda.
