Researchers from Wageningen University in the Netherlands say that insects produce far less greenhouse gases than cattle and pigs do, and would thus be a viable alternative to eating meat. Published in the journal PLoS ONE, the study found that pigs, for instance, produce up to one hundred times more greenhouse gases than the equivalent weight of mealworms.

Weren’t we told there is a natural food chain on earth?

I ate bugs in Thailand (after a few Thai beers). The poor people in provinces lie Isaan develop a taste for them. I’m like Andrew Zimmerman and will try anything. The bugs were disgusting and I almost got sick! You have to eat a lot of them to get any protein from them. Gross!

Never cared for Korg’s—half of the Gagh are dead and the fries are too greasy.
