It was a long time in coming... but the Labor Party will be fired from the Israeli Government and Defense Minister Ehud Barak is forming his own centrist faction - Azmaut. The once mighty socialist party, that once formed the leading core of the Israeli state for decades, has been reduced to a rump far leftist party like Meretz. That Barak jumped ship with the full knowledge and backing of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is a sign we are entering a new political era in Israel this year.

Question for those of you who truly follow Israeli politics...
Does this then give Bibi more maneuvering room to pursue what the Western Media will call "hardline" policies? Does this make Israeli action vis-a-vis Hizbollah more likely?

Good news indeed, it makes me very happy that the right is doing what it should by representing the right wing as they were elected to do. How I do hate the right when it allows the left to manipulate and seize power and destroy the will of the people who elected them.
Let the right be right and the left wrong.

In the land of the blind the jug eared Kenyan is king. Israel is now more conservative than America
