Republicans have started to make good on their promises to conduct stringent oversight of the Obama administration right from the start. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), chair of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has requested information from the Department of Homeland Security over a reported practice of investigating the politics of those seeking government records through Freedom of Information Act requests:
A House committee has asked the Homeland Security Department to provide documents about an agency policy that required political appointees to review many Freedom of InformationAct requests, according to a letter obtained Sunday by The Associated Press.
The letter to Homeland Security was sent late Friday by Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. It represents an early move by House Republicans who have vowed to launch numerous probes of President Barack Obamas administration, ranging from its implementation of the new health care law to rules curbing air pollution to spending in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Nice start, but I’d rather see Issa probing airport screening by the TSA.
Probing and DHS seem appropriate together; don’t ya think? Rather sick LOL
“Nice start, but Id rather see Issa probing airport screening by the TSA”
I think Darryl Issa will get around to that and a lot of other things in the next 24 mos.
If Issa gets the RAT flunky’s out of the process, and the FOIA gets delivered to those Conservative organizations that requested the information, then he, and his committee have help in persuing the RAT mischief. It makes sense to me.
It would seem to me that once he breaks up the RAT log jam, and supplies those Conservative organizations that requested the FOIA their ammunition, he can be on his way investigating the other RAT inspired atrocities as you mentioned the one in particular.
Sorta like the Sheriff deputizing the citizens of Hole in the Wall to help round up the bad guys could be a way to look at it.
