Jesse is talking about MLK Jr. When he was young, he wasn't violent, but he had anger, and because of that he couldn't see what was wrong with hating whites, smoking pot, etc.

But it's a spiritual battle. (as an aside, he is wondering out loud why they call MLK Doctor instead of preacher...which he knows is to make him feel more important).

Rev King had "vision". But today leaders have no vision. They don't know what it is.

Jesse says MLK wanted this to be one nation to be united. Black Americans have turned their lives over to an outside leader, now they cannot follow the leader within...now the hispanics are doing the same thing.

Blacks are attached to their leaders so whenever anyone says anything about their color, they scream! It hurts, because they are attached.
