WASHINGTON — Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Elk Grove, could start making waves in California water.
As new chairman of the House water and power subcommittee, McClintock can promote his pet projects while he squeezes environmentalists. Politically, this means renewed talk of an Auburn dam, stricter scrutiny of San Joaquin River restoration and more support for hydropower.
"We need to change the central objective of our federal water and power policy, to one of abundance," McClintock said in an interview. "That means building more water projects."

We need to change the Endangered Species Act and other environmental laws to take some teeth away from the enviro groups and balance conservation with business interests.

How about getting the water flowing again to the Central Valley that some Judge shut off years ago?
Good to see you here Mr. Congressman. I’ve seen the dead orchards off I-5 and the signs that tell exactly why it happened, and it fills me with dread. We all hope that there are some adults starting to take charge now.

Hey, why can’t a state with 33 million people use the same infrastructure it had when they had 14 million?
They just have to tighten their belts, bathe less often, stop watering lawns or crops and make sure that there’s enough to go around for all the undocumented [non]workers and their kith and kin.
