Just reading the headline, I immediately wondered if this a serious scientific prediction or just more PC crap.

California was already hit a massive disaster called Moonbeam, Pelosi, Boxer, Feintein, Newsom, et al. Every other disaster pales.

I wonder if these are the same scientists that said we would be having more and more hurricanes because of globull warming?
In other words, whatever.

Even larger storms happened in past centuries, over the dates 212, 440, 603, 1029, 1418, and 1605, according to geological evidence. And these were all caused by global warming?

Let’s see, I gotta worry about, California Superstorm, Yellowstone caldera, Saint Madras Fault, magnetic pole shift,
rogue planet Niburu, asteroid strike, mass solar ejection “kill shot”, the Mayan calendar ending in 2012, and I just threw away all of my MRE’s that were over 12 years old.
DAMN, talk about poor planning.

"And I predict, with the EXACT SAME accuracy as this, that it might not."
I disagree.
It's a highly likely scenario and something that's happened in this state many times in the past.
Read up on the winter of 1861-1862.
Calamitous. Over 1/2 of the Central Valley was covered in water...some of it over 20ft deep. Entire towns washed away, to include Sacramento.
Heck, it could happen this spring.

These guys love worrying about stuff that might happen in geologic time. We really are bankrupt and we really are driving right off a cliff like Thelma and Louise. But lets worry about the geologic record.

I have picked up marine fossils, at about 7,000 ft. elevation in the Big Horn mountains, Wyoming and Montana.
Mama nature “uplisted” the area, from sea level about 70 million years ago.
I doubt Obama, Biden, Clinton or AlGore could prevent such an event.

Heck, it could happen this spring. One thing to remember is that just recently (last week) it was noted that 48 out of 50 states had fresh snow covering.
When it all melts, it must go somewhere.
