Islam - or, rather, Islam is at war with us. They've been at war with us for 30+ years. But, being the “civilized” nation that we are, we missed this little fact for a long time. Even when they finally brought the war to the forefront (Two embassy bombings, the Kobar Towers, The U.S.S. Cole, WTC/Pentagon), we still haven't recognized it for what it is. We will not defeat this enemy without seriously taking the fight directly to them. I'm afraid that our level of “civilization” will be our undoing.

Words have meanings, and Islam is not a nation. Redefining it as such to allow a still-strained analogy to WWII does not strike me as honest.
