First Lady Michelle Obama donned a stunning, one-shouldered, red gown on Wednesday night for the state dinner for visiting President Hu Jintao of China.

Her color choice was a gracious nod to her Chinese guests: red, while the dominant color of the Chinese flag, also symbolizes prosperity and happiness in Chinese tradition.

The dress was designed by the label of Alexander McQueen, a beloved British designer who committed suicide less than a year ago.

Hittlery reminds me of an aging Bette Davis trying desperately to look twenty years younger than her actual age. With all this work, I gotta believe its only a matter of time until she will be cast as the lead in a re-make of "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?"

UGH... quick: Check out Hillary trying her best to be Scarlett O'Hara at the picnic at Twelve Oaks in #28! ("Fiddle de dee...").

She looks like a 60-something woman trying to be a teenager in that pink getup. :-O

I think she looks great. Too bad she chose commie red though. It reminds me of when Clinton wore the bright red tie when he visited Vietnam:

It should’ve either been a true one-strap dress or a two strap dress. The cut looks fine but it looks as though one strap slipped off. The color is good on her and the black splashes are okay.

If my eyes don’t deceive me (trying to be ladylike) I never thought I’d see a First Lady photographed without (obviously) a bra.....especially at a State dinner no less!! Ewwwww!

"The dress was designed by the label of Alexander McQueen, a beloved British designer who committed suicide less than a year ago."

The last design to make headlines came off a "retro" rack. This one from a dead designer.

Seems like no one wants credit for dressing this chick.

Damn .... I thought Hillary was wearing drapes ... !

Some related questions / observations:

Is the World's Smartest Woman really wearing a plastic raincoat wrapped around a pantsuit?

Are the pink beads in her costume jewelry made of polystyrene or some other tasteful polymer?

Can't she afford a decent makeup artist ... someone who knows that a bright red lipstick clashes horribly with a pink, peach, flesh and blue clown suit?

Why didn't someone tell her that short sleeved dresses don't flatter flabby arms and aren't very appropriate for formal events held on January evenings?

Does it look to anyone else like she is developing an especially wide load?
