I suspect the rookie Hussein is waiting so that any permits granted will influence gas prices by November 2012. My guess.

I think rather he is a true-believer in the idea that $7/gal gas is a good thing and will take his party down in flames clinging to that belief.

The effort by Obama and the environmental left to strangle the US is proceeding according to plan. The BP blowout was an extra gift, but the strategy had already been to cripple the US through energy restrictions and resulting dependency on foreign sources.

Any wonder why this is likely to keep the current trend?

“Obama Says- Americans Want Higher Gas Prices”

In 2008 interview: He doesn’t mind higher prices but prefered slower price rise.

A lot of the rigs are committed for overseas work. There's not that many left to affect the price, and even if there was it takes longer than that to get the wells on line.

Zippo’s plan was to destroy the economy.

Until we DRILL BABY DRILL, oil prices are going to remain high.
Until we get rid of the socialists (both elected and unelected) running our government, oil prices are going to remain high.
Until we tell the overemotional environmental extremist to go to hell, oil prices are going to remain high.

That is the simple answer, but I guarantee none of it is going to happen. We have become a nation of sheeple and will follow these utopia promisers right off the cliff.
Too pessimistic? Not in my opinion.

Let’s not forget that they’re also starting to move against domestic coal mining.

Also, that there are long delays involved with building in mines, wells, refineries, and power plants.

He is also continuing to work against any prospect for future nuclear power. It looks like GE has decided to become a Chinese company, and will move all its research as well as industrial capacity over there. We’ll help China build more nuclear power, but we’ll block it here.

And if and when Obama is removed and we change course, it will take 5, 10, 15 years to undo the damage.

Funny how we gave Brazil a bunch of money to go drill for oil off their coast.

I believe that Obama is set on bringing us down in his (hopefully 4-year) Presidency. He was raised and trained by people who despise this country.

Obama, his cohorts and high level backers are people with influence, authority, but most of all, with money. Such as union leaders, financiers, do-good groups, racial and ethnic groups, etc.

At the personal level, these people could care less what fuel costs.

They ride in limosines paid for by others or written off as business/organizational expense. Most of them probably have no idea what a gallon of gasoline costs at the pump - or the cost of other commodities and necessities for that matter.

Their interests in fuel costs are financial (how to make money) and/or as a political issue and how it can be used to influence others to support an agenda, vote the right way, or pressure politicians.

The drill rigs have left for off the Brazilian Coast and other places in the world. It will be several years before
they can come back.
