Politico44 ^ | 01/20/11 | MATT NEGRIN & MJ LEE

"This is one of the largest single-day operations against the mafia in the FBI’s history, both in terms of the number of defendants arrested and charged and the scope of the criminal activity that is alleged," Holder said. "We are committed, and we are determined, to eradicate these criminal enterprises once and for all."

The mob, Holder said, is also an economic threat to the United States. He said members of the mafia are “praying on vulnerable Americans” by taking money from labor groups, imposing illegal “mafia taxes” and trying to delegitimize businesses.

Thieves stealing from thieves. We can't have any of that... especially when we can't even spell "prey".

The real reason for the bust.

“The mob is also an economic threat to the United States. Members of the mafia are praying on vulnerable Americans by taking money from labor groups, imposing illegal “mafia taxes” and trying to delegitimize businesses.”

Corrected: “The democrat party is also an economic threat to the United States. Members of the democrat party are praying on vulnerable Americans by taking money from labor groups, imposing illegal “democrat party taxes” and trying to delegitimize businesses.”

I might rejoice if the Mob were "praying on vulnerable Americans. Now, if they are actually preying on vulnerable Americans that might be different.

And, since when are labor groups vulnerable Americans? Maybe the author meant vulture Americans.

Oh the old push to ‘rehabilitate’ Holder’s ‘image’.

No we didn’t forget he called the American citizenry ‘cowards’.

LOL! I can't believe he said this. The left hand just put money in the right hand. The only difference between a mob and a union is that they don't directly give support to the dems.

...and the New Black Panthers.

I suppose an investigation of the criminal enterprises known as the SPLC, NAACP and ACLU would be too much to hope for until 2012 when genuine "Hope and Change" sweeps across our land.

It's not unlikely. The same way they tried to use Cap and Trade to shift business from the Comex to Chicago.

I was also thinking that it might be making a bit more room for the black drug gangs.

“Oh the old push to ‘rehabilitate’ Holder’s ‘image’.”

I thought the same thing as I read the article thinking it might be a diversion from the NBP fiasco, or it could be that those businesses being ?”Delegitimized”? are black owned, or the “Mafia taxes” might be against those ?”Delegitimized”? black owned businesses.

Whatever it is Holder is stepping into some deep doo doo, and hope he is prepared for the “squish”.

The problem with the mob (and drug gangs in general as well) is that if you get rid of one of them 10 more step forward to take his place.

it is not about stealing money, it’s about the government taking out the competition.
