It sounds like the name of a barber shop quartet, doesnt it?
Anyway, as we reported on Tuesday a group of S.C. lawmakers led by Rep. Kris Crawford and Sen. Kevin Bryant are mounting an effort to draft U.S. Rep. Mike Pence (R-Indiana) into running for president in 2012.
(To read our original story, click here).
These lawmakers gathered on the steps of the S.C. State House on Wednesday to announce the formation of their group and its Facebook and Twitter pages.
America is facing a serious crisis and we need a serious president, said Crawford. In order to turn our country around, we are going to have to nominate someone who has not only the conservative principles to know what needs to be done, but also the knowledge, experience and, most importantly, the courage to actually do it. We cannot afford to nominate a weak, moderate candidate as we have in the past.
We dont know enough about Pence yet to be impressed (or not impressed) by his prospective candidacy, but there were several names on this list of early supporters that certainly impressed us.
For example, joining Crawford and Bryant at the event were Senators Lee Bright and Phil Shoopman two of the staunchest (in fact, only) fiscal conservatives in the S.C. Senate. Meanwhile, Reps. Eric Bedingfield and Ralph Norman two of the Houses most fiscally conservative lawmakers also attended.

One thing I like about this new election cycle is the fact that I’m hearing more good names than bad.
Well, there are still a gaggle of bad names, some who almost certainly running. We’ll be fortunate to get two solid conservatives in the running.
We need electable nominees...and Pence sounds awesome, but he will need a lot of heavy PR and TV time from now on. All the damn MSM polls showing Hucklebee, Palin and Romney leading the polls..which is the last thing we need. Huckabee needs to bow out of consideration.. Palin is not electable...and Rino Romney, please God no!
Pence would be awesome. I think he will takeoff at the debates. I realize he is “just” a congressman, but if Obama can get elected, Pence can get elected.
Pence would be a great candidate. I’m not counting out those potential contenders who have said they aren’t running. No one has actually said they ARE running. It’s still too early.
As for the Reps don’t get elected President line of thinking, my response is why not? I can understand when the media consisted of 3 major networks and PBS, as well as local newspapers, that a Rep would have difficultly becoming well known enough and raising enough money for a national race. With the internet, talk radio and even Fox, a Rep now should be able to contend.
Momentum is building! We need to cheer the great Mike Pence on into this Presidential race — the most important of our Lifetimes against Pres. Obama.
Check out www.TheConservativeChampion.org to find out more or sign the declaration urging to get in the race. There is nobody else like him! We NEED him!!
Major Conservative and Tea Party leaders like Dick Armey, Brent Bozell, Erick Erickson, Morton Blackwell, and others have all ENDORSED him.
Congressman Mike Pence is the Strongest Reagan-Kemp pro-Jobs free market guy we have got in America. There is *really* nobody else like him.
He was the first to stand up to Karl Rove to fight against the bailouts, he stands strong on national defense and fights Planned Parenthood tooth-and-nail! Principled, Christian and he has got a fine and crisp speaking-style!
America is facing a serious crisis and we need a smart, insightful, and a *true* Constitutionalist like Pence in the White House to make sure our beloved country stays strong and does not become some sort of second-world mess.
Again, I urge you to come to www.TheConservativeChampion.org to find out more about The Pence or sign our declaration cheering him on into the 2012 Race for the White House! *WE need to make sure he gets IN this very crucial race.* Here’s the Push Pence for President Declaration facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Conservative-Champion/183472778341064

“To those who say that marriage is not relevant to our budget crisis, I say, you would not be able to print enough money in a thousand years to pay for the government you would need if the traditional family continues to collapse. — Rep. Mike Pence
