Murkowski: I’m worried that Republicans are spending too much time on ObamaCare

My annoyance here isn’t because her point is invalid — I said the same thing last night about taking care to keep Congress’s priorities in line with voters’ — but that, as a member of the caucus, she’s gift-wrapping a meme for the media about the GOP “overplaying its hand” or whatever. The Times a few other outlets have already picked it up, in fact.

Yes, of course it’s important for Republicans to keep spending and the economy as their first order of business (ask former Speaker Pelosi about that), but isn’t that bound to happen now anyway? The House just voted to instruct the various committees to work on drafting alternate health-care legislation, which means this issue should be off the radar screen for weeks or months.

DeMint’s promising to somehow force a vote on the repeal bill in the Senate, but that’ll fail and then O-Care will end up on the backburner in that chamber too.

Meanwhile, we’ve got Obama set to talk about spending and deficits and jobs jobs jobs on Tuesday night and an epic battle about the debt ceiling coming next month, so I’m not really seeing how we’re dangerously bogged down in this issue. The Democrats spent nine months flailing around in the health-care quicksand. Boehner’s spent, what, 10 days? Even an eeyore like me isn’t worried (yet).

We really need an active wing of the Tea Party movement in Alaska. There is a lot of stuff happening there.

She’s got a mouth the size of a grouper. Shame her brain isn’t as big.

I am convinced that everyday when a RINO wakes his or her first thought is given to how they can help the opposition that day.

The thing is, Murkowski is not a RINO. She’s not a Republican at all, in name or in anything else. She won re-election as an Independent, defeating the GOP candidate. If the GOP had any brains, they’d throw her the hell out of the caucus. All she will do is damage the GOP brand every time she opens her socialist mouth.

First week: swearing in, general start up stuff, reading the Constitution.

Second week: pretty much shut down because of the Tuscon shooting.

Third week: vote to eliminate Obamacare.

The Republican House has spent a fraction of the amount of time the last Congress spent on this. This was a two page bill which everyone had time to read, instead of the two thousand page bill which no one in Congress read.

If you were worried about Republicans, you would not have run as an independent after you had been beaten in their primary . . . you self-absorbed, RINO Commie w***e

Yes, but her point is certainly “invalid.”

We need to get spending under control, and that means that the first thing we need to do is kill the biggest socialist takeover of our economy ever.

Or does Allahpundit, who is often a jerk, think that a few trillion dollars down the health hole doesn’t matter? Close most of the hospitals, fire most of the nurses and doctors, and replace them with bureaucrats?

As an Alaskan, let me offer my sincere apologies to the rest of the United States. We really messed up, and when I say “we,” I mean “them.”
