Republicans are dealing with a crowd to whom appearance and form always trumps substance. Nothing whatsoever is without political meaning to democrats
So whenever there is applause, the image will be that of generalized applause, and can be manipulated in a way that serves obama’s purposes.

I am going to laugh my butt off everytime Obama slams the GOP in his speech and the camera pans the Dems jumping up to applaud with a stupid republican just sitting next to them with their thumb in their ear.
