Has it occurred to anyone that Cantor has other things to do? I mean. WE’RE GOING BROKE. He probably doesn’t want to distract from the hard work this HOUSE has to do. The last thing he needs is the press hounding him about this. COME ON. It’s not his fight.

This is why I support President Palin! She would not turn on us real people and sell out to the beltway bunch! Why not tell him to product it and stop the questions?!?!?

Cantor, come back from the dark side and do what the people voted you in to do.

The headline addressed the natural born issue with a comment about Obama being a citizen, which is irrelevant and not the driving issue related to his eligibility and birth certificate.

I'll clarify for your benefit though:

While some question whether he is even a citizen, the headline is misleading because the critical issue to his eligibility and the release of his birth certificate is whether he is a natural born citizen.

Happy?

Yeah, this is a loser issue. To keep bringing it up makes us look like sore loser kooks. We can beat him in 2012 if we focus on his policies. If we keep attacking with this crap he is looked on sympathetically by the middle. And we need their votes.

This is very true, regardless of what we know, and the strange circumstances, I think it's VERY wise for the GOP congressfolks in office to dismiss this and let it play itself out in the blogosphere and other channels, they can take higher ground regardless and focus on the fact that Obama has been a disaster for this country, citizen or not, and continue inflicting SERIOUS damage to the liberal base system by exposing the failure of their policy.

Two years into the Obama administration, so-called birthers continue to argue that Obama isn't a natural-born citizen...
And the Post fails, yet again, to inform their readers just how it is that he is a natural born citizen.
It must have just slipped their minds...again.

Relax, I wasn’t specifically speaking to you (personally).

It was meant as a generic “you can’t prove it.”

Happy?

The blogosphere can’t do anything about it, and the courts WON’T do anything about it.

Screw the higher ground. Where has that gotten us in the past? This is our country we are talking about here. We need THE WON out of here ASAP, disgraced, and all those who covered up for him, never to be heard from again.

See reply 50 for the link to my transcript of the show.
I did it for myself mainly, but it looks like it may help others as well.

“they can take higher ground regardless”

Ignoring the Constitution is taking the higher ground?

They are not a social club they have sworn an oath to uphold the Constitution.

Good grief, he sounds like a parent chastising a child.

Heck, Obama maybe isn’t even this usurper’s last name. Sounds like he’s been a Sotoro a lot longer than an Obama.

How about, IF...he were found to NOT be qualified to be President (not being a naturally born citizen of the U.S.), and he were impeached because of that...would everything he ever signed into law be nulified and void?

Not exactly. If he is not Constitutionally elligible to be President, then he cannot be impeached. To be impeached, one must first be President. If he's not a Natural Born Citizen, then he's not Constitutionally President. And so none of the bills he's signed nor the Executive Orders he's issued would have any Constitutional validity. All those he's appointed to positions in the government would not be (nor ever have been) officers of the government—for example, Sotomayor and Kagan would not be Justices of the Supreme Court, nor would any of the votes they cast count.

That’s one reason that both Sotomayor and Kagan would by force of law have to recuse themselves from any case where the outcome might invalidate their status as Justices.

“I think it’s VERY wise for the GOP congressfolks in office to dismiss this and let it play itself out in the blogosphere and other channels,”

Yeah, maybe we can just “twitter” it to a resolution.

Afterall, twittering is good enough for the courts why not congress?

You are a rare voice of sanity on FR on this topic. Talking about Obama's birth certificate makes conservatives look ridiculous.

To me, the new House is already a failure. There is a disease at the very heart of the U.S. government. The people have been betrayed on the most basic levels: the right to know who our leaders truly are so that we know that we citizens still rule ourselves.
