With all due respect to the fallen officers, they were wearing body armor - and had guns which I am sure they were trained how to use - and it didn't save them.
The killer launched an ambush from a hidden elevated position which allowed him to have to have the advantage and shoot downward hitting on the officers where they couldn't see him hidden in the attic. Apparently the body armor didn't protect them from overhead shots fired down on them.
In retrospect I guess we could say they should have grabbed the lady and exited the house as soon as they suspected he was up there hiding in the attic getting ready to shot down on them, and send in the dogs and SWAT team and the flash bangs and tear gas.
But sometimes I guess what they call "Tombstone Courage" takes over or SWAT is somewhere else or you have to act in that instant and you go in anyway without reinforcements and the bad guy gets the first shot off and down you go.
I guess that sometimes you are just dead no matter what you do. That's why you had best make your peace with God before you go.
Its a sad day to see that our police forces will be at war in Urban areas. What will be next? Every officer will have to carry a fully auto weapon, and carry grenades and rocket launchers?
This surge of violece aginast LEOs across America is disconcerting to say the least. This perp should never have been released from prison.Anarchism is making its way to destroy what Mark Levin calls “Civil Society.”
The court system is bonkers,ruled by leftist political correctness.
