Putin vows revenge for airport bombing

Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin vowed revenge for a suicide bombing that killed at least 35 people at Russia's busiest airport and underscored the Kremlin's failure to stem a rising tide of attacks.

Talking tough a day after the bombing, Russia's leaders ordered security services to root out the culprits behind the attack, which bore hallmarks of militants fighting for an Islamist state along Russia's southern flank.

"This was an abominable crime in both its senselessness and its cruelty," Mr Putin told a meeting of ministers in Moscow.

"I do not doubt that this crime will be solved and that retribution is inevitable."

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for Monday's attack at Moscow's Domodedovo airport, but officials say the action bears hallmarks of militants fighting for an Islamist state in the North Caucasus region on Russia's southern frontier.

Russian president Dmitry Medvedev said the airport's management should be held responsible for the attack, as reports emerged that a man and a woman may have been responsible.

Originally the bombing had been described as a suicide attack, but there have been reports the bombs may have gone off early, inadvertently killing the attackers.

Operations have returned to normal at the airport, but there is an obvious increased security presence, with X-ray machines and security checks moved to the airport entrances.

Mr Medvedev made it clear there would be no return to normal for airport management.

"It's obviously a terrorist act that was planned well in advance in order to cause the deaths of as many people as possible," he said.

"What happened shows there were clear security violations," he said, referring to the fact those responsible evaded security to carry the explosives into the airport's arrival hall.

Revenge?

Not Justice?

Imagine if a US leader cried for revenge.

I think Russia is beginning to regret this. Most of the people committed by the signatories of the Hitler Stalin pact also regretted it in very short order.

When we’re talking about terrorists, being brought to justice means being put to death. There may be some terrorists were forced into it, some who were deluded into it...but the whole thing goes back to killing them all and letting God sort them out.

We have to protect the innocent from these wolves.

Some of my friends over there call Medvedev “the sitting dog” because his head is so large compared to his arms and torso.

Too bad he isn’t one of the good guys. But as a bad guy, I respect him.

I think the same way myself, there are times I think I like him in a roundabout way or at least respect him. I think the thing we need to remember that he is out for Russia's interests, not ours. Still, in this case against the radical mooselimbs, I do give him my support.

Hey Vlad. Here’s an idea for you. Why don’t you sell more nuclear stuff to Iran so they can:

1. Continue to fund the Islamofascists that continue to fund the people that are killing you
2. Help Iran build nuclear weapons so your Islamofascists won’t have to get so close anymore to use their bomb belts.

Putin is not “president” of Russia. It is Medvedev.

Yeah, I know that - I'm talking about HERE.

To clarify, I should have contrasted my views of “PotUS 0bama” and “PotUS Putin” - because that’s how deranged my world view has started to become under The One.
