Consumer Watchdog, an advocacy group largely focused in recent years on Google's privacy practices, has called on a congressional investigation into the Internet giant's "cozy" relationship with U.S. President Barack Obama's administration.
In a letter sent Monday, Consumer Watchdog asked Representative Darrell Issa, the new chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, to investigate the relationship between Google and several government agencies. The group asked Issa to investigate contracts at several U.S. agencies for Google technology and services, the "secretive" relationship between Google and the U.S. National Security Agency, and the company's use of a U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration airfield in California.
Federal agencies have also taken "insufficient" action in response to revelations last year that Google Street View cars were collecting data from open Wi-Fi connections they passed, Consumer Watchdog said in the letter. "We believe Google has inappropriately benefited from close ties to the administration," the letter said. "Google is most consumers' gateway to the Internet. Nonetheless, it should not get special treatment and access because of a special relationship with the administration."
Consumer Watchdog may have an ally in Issa, a California Republican. In July, he sent a letter to Google raising concerns that White House Deputy Chief Technology Officer Andrew McLaughlin, the former head of global public policy for Google, had inappropriate e-mail contact with company employees.

The Left is finally waking up to what they have wrought upon us.............
This complaint is all over the map. If they have a relationship with the NSA and help them spy, I have no problem with that.
So long as that spying is within the scope of NSA's Charter, I agree.

Now that the NSA is part of the enemy camp, protector of the regime rather than protector of national security, we must be wary of them.
I thought this might be of interest for your MI Ping list.
"Keyhole" is, of course, the code word for the family of huge overhead imagery ("spy") satellites that are, basically, Hubble Space Telescopes -- aimed at Earth:
The common name, of course, raises the question, "Who really developed Google Earth -- and how did Google get it?
Moffett Airfield is home to the private jet owned by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. They pay $1.3 million a year to park their customized wide-body Boeing 767-200 and two other Gulfstream V jets owned by Google executives at the airfield, which is generally closed to private aircraft.[9][10] The airplanes have had scientific equipment installed by NASA to allow for experiments to be run in flight.
Do you think they scrubbed it?
The thing about Google is they already know everything about everyone. I never wanted to use any of their things because I didn’t trust them. Then my son who builds web sites came to visit and demonstrated to me how they knew everything anyway even though I had not at the time used any of their things.
Now I’m not bright enough about computers to explain it I’ve only had a computer a little over two years (lol I know I’m way behind wish he lived closer to teach me) but it’s something about how their many, many huge search engines scour and retain everything on the net, how they have programs to piece it together. He even showed me how they can put together who you are and match it up to your e-mail.
By the time he was done I thought OMG they probably know more then our government. That really gave me the chills because think of what they could do in collusion with obama!
yep
The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
