Maine and Immigration
Youth for Western Civilization ^ | January 27, 2011 | William L. Houston

Few conservatives think of New England as a stronghold for restrictionist immigration reform. That might be changing.

I have been following some interesting developments on the immigration front going on in Maine for several weeks now. There has been a surprising positive turn of events there. . . .

Yesterday, I learned that a Maine state representative has introduced an Arizona-style immigration law in the Maine House. Rep. Kathleen Chase has generated "a fierce reaction" from "human rights advocates" - a positive indicator if there ever was one.

The "Maine People's Alliance" has decried the bill as "racist and unconstitutional." The Maine ACLU has accused Chase of "undermining public safety" and "eroding trust between law enforcement and communities of color."

I'm sure the Maine communists have released a similar statement expressing their "shock" and "outrage." I haven't bothered to look. . .

People need to remember that the citizens of our nation are its sovereigns: we, as a republic, determine who are allowed to enter our nation and become citizens.

Restricting immigration can have advantages, such as allowing time for assimilation. It is not unusual for some immigrants to decide that our pluralistic and liberating way of life are not suited to them. Returning to home countries after a duration does happen to some.

Freedom can be frightening for those unused to it.

Quite true. Most average Americans (who have a less than average knowledge of history) don't realize that tens of thousands of European immigrants to the US moved back to their native lands between 1890 and 1930.

While visiting Maine a few years ago, I commented on the vile, nasty, French Canadians. A shopkeeper remarked “The hell with the Mexican border! Close the Canadian border”.

The English Canadians in New Brunswick are a good bunch. The French...are quite a species, to say the least.

3 weeks into Paul LePage’s administration the libs are howling. We’ve joined the Florida Obamacare suit. The Maine Dept of Environmental Protection and the Land Use Regulatory Commission are being set for dismantling and now this. Wonderful progress so far but the legislation has to get passed.

THAT'S ALWAYS WHERE THE SHOE PINCHES. Whose ox is going to get gored? Maybe now's a good time to look at the hubbie-run machines behind Snowe and little Suzi?

Lesson learned: Mamma Baldacci dishwashers can really screw up a place. The first ax has to fall on the state government to send all those sexually ambiguous baldacci-ites back to away. Probably ought to also spend some state money on an airlift back to Somalia, where those people might possibly be of some known use. Precious few opportunities for camel rustling hereabouts.

Now about all these people complaining about French-Canadians in Maine. (1) They are mostly American citizens, like LePage the Governor. (2) They was here first after the Indians (3)Hockey players must be grown somewhere. (4)If was up to us Maine Yankees as breedin' stock, there wouldn't be a white man left in the state. That blood's runnin' thin. Leastways mine is. (5) We may need to hook up with Quebec if and when we secede from wtf Obamaland, so ferme ta geule, or would you rather learn Mexican, or drink with those super loud faux-Hibernian immigrant MAholes who can ruin any good bar in 15 minutes on their way to the polls to vote in faux-Hibernian MAholes like themselves, who have made MA such a paradise?

Tabernac ... m'enrage de votre racisme.

I would not visit Madawaska if I were you two.
