From Orange Co. VA news release:

Forces from largely outside the County, using exaggeration, took advantage of the horrors of the Civil War to achieve their own goals. Their approach was contrary to a federal battlefield commission which encouraged cooperation with the locality. Even the eminent Dr. James McPherson conceded that no event of historic significance occurred on this land.

Hurray! This heritage must be preserved so that history cannot be erased.

Nothing says Walmart discount prices like building on an open grave of dead Americans. Many soldiers remains laid in the fields at Wilderness for years until collections could be taken up to bury them.

My girlfriend’s car was hit by a car cutting through parking spaces at a walmart. The cops arrived and the other driver swore that my GF was at fault.

Within 5 min. of the cop arriving a walmart manager came out of the store and gave the cop a CD disk of the security camera footage showing the idiot driver cutting through spaces and T-boning my GF’s car.

It was a very nice gesture on Walmart’s part and erased the memory of one of their cashiers putting a 1/2 gallon of milk on top of a loaf of bread on an earlier trip.

I'm sure Walmart has policies on everything-- but the quick response to your GF car incident may have been the personal intervention of the store manager. Ok, I know pretty much everything is taped at Walmart -- but deciding what tapes to use, without court order, suggests perhaps that maybe there was a Walmart employee who was a witness to this offense and spoke with his manager. And it was that conversation that resulted in the release of the tapes.

Just guessing. I have no way to know. But you can make a difference by letting the Home Office know of the actions of the store manager of your GF's Walmart. -- If you can't identify the store number, it should be right there on the receipt (top left corner next to st#) . if your receipt is damaged, then I would advise contacting the home office about the actions of your Walmart store manager with the store's address.

Your response will help identify the Walmart stores were customer service is above and beyond!
