We all understand. There is nothing in the UCMJ about Muslims that I know of. But the command climate inhibits young commanders from doing what is correct. Their OERs will suffer, particularly when the Chairman of the JSC and CofS of the Army actively support these themes. As a young company commander in II Corps during the late unpleasantness in SEA, a young white man from the south blessed with a rich southern accent and not a Point officer, I had two strikes against me anytime I had to discipline a black soldier. There was a knee jerk reaction that I was being too harsh and I was somehow at fault. A similar thing will happen now with straight officers and NCOs and openly gay soldiers, as well as where there are Christian officers and NCOs and Muslim soldiers.
B4Ranch, I'm assuming that by "off limits" you mean "rules" imposed by commanding officers, JCS, etc., the UCMJ still stands regardless, or did someone repeal ART 125 while I was asleep?
ART. 125. SODOMY Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration , however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense.
(b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.
