Where was I? LOL, north of Long Beach, missed the 405, went up some main hiway from Long Beach Arena. Must have been 5 minutes or 10 minutes past the 405.

If you'd just stayed on it (whichever of the two freeways north out of Long Beach you were on), you could have jumped off onto I-105, or I-5/I-10 which would have taken you to Santa Monica. The 105 would have taken you to LAX. No need to get off at all.
