As the old adage goes: “With guns, we are citizens. Without them, we are subjects.”

As far as Matthews and the other gun controllers are concerned, the public being disarmed and helpless under tyranny is a feature, not a bug. Such people truly have the elitist contempt for the people, the “Marie Antoinette syndrome”.

They even fantasize about a “cull” of the “hoi polloi”, as it would make their elitist job of ruling over “the masses” easier.

Just remember that in ancient Saxon culture, the carrying of a weapon meant you were a free man, without it you were considered a slave.

The weapon at the time was a single edged knife called a Seax – which is where the name Saxon came from.

Just as the Left doesn’t really believe in freedom of speech, they don’t really believe you should have the right to defend yourself – either from criminals or the government.

They look on most of us as soon to be disarmed slaves to be used and discarded as they see fit.
