White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday that it is "not for me or our government to determine" whether Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak should leave office amid massive protests against his rule. Gibbs said the United States is "not picking between those on the street and those in the government." Yet Gibbs also said the U.S. was seeking an "orderly transition" in Egypt. Asked what he meant with those words, the press secretary said the United States wanted to see "a process of negotiations with a broad cross-section of the Egyptian people.

But I don’t think Turkey is an Islamic State. I think it is a represented part. But I will brush up.
Turkey is secular by tradition, however has a democratic constitution. They still separate religion from state.(or try to)
The current prez is trying to break down the separation of church of state. He is aggressively acting against Israel (remember the flotilla raid?). This is why the EU countries don’t want them, concerned about allowing an islmaic state to have open borders and movement within the EU.

Frankly, Moslems should simply be prohibited from participating in democratic forms, and if they live in a Western nation, they should be disenfranchised and given a "protected state" ~ kind of like a "slave" ~ which will allow them to work, but not participate.
