Gibbs said the United States is "not picking between those on the street and those in the government." Yet Gibbs also said the U.S. was seeking an "orderly transition" in Egypt. Asked what he meant with those words, the press secretary said the United States wanted to see "a process of negotiations with a broad cross-section of the Egyptian people.

Turkey is secular by tradition, however has a democratic constitution. They still separate religion from state.(or try to)

The current prez is trying to break down the separation of church of state. He is aggressively acting against Israel (remember the flotilla raid?). This is why the EU countries don’t want them, concerned about allowing an islmaic state to have open borders and movement within the EU.

Exactly right.
“In indecision is the decision made”

But I think their statements are as phony as everything else they say and do.

Watch the other hand - and you’ll see whose side he’s on.

He’s taken a side for the “orderly transition encompassing a broad cross section of the Egyptian population” in establishing a new government to replace the American ally Obama and his pals at the State Department ousted.

Moslems are, in general, incapable of dealing with democracy. It's entirely too complex and requires that they put aside their personal interests in murder, abusing women and general arrogance.

Frankly, Moslems should simply be prohibited from participating in democratic forms, and if they live in a Western nation, they should be disenfranchised and given a "protected state" ~ kind of like a "slave" ~ which will allow them to work, but not participate.
