The Bible speaks of a pure conscience, a clear conscience, a seared conscience and a defiled conscience.
A seared conscience could be explained as one which has been ‘branded’ and has no feelings in that area of the conscience which should be moving one to do the proper thing. It seems that if, after having an abortion, the woman is troubled - she goes to seek help and they work to ‘sear’ the conscience further. Thus, she will not be troubled with taking the life of her child.
If the laws, society, parents, and virtually everyone else around you says that abortion is OK - this can work to deaden the innate sense of right and wrong in a person and people.
Obviously in this country the sensibility of what is right and what is wrong is twisted. We need to stand against this evil.
