Laura Ingraham is playing excerpts this morning from a speech GWB made at Southern Methodist University yesterday. She is playing the audio, but I have been unable to find anything on the internet so far.
People should review the content of this speech whenever it is available on the net or elsewhere.
GWB Speech at SMU?
Was it AOK?
I supported W wholeheartedly for these past 10 years but enough is enough! I don’t ever want to hear about the Bushes again. They’re dead to me.
yes. saw it on CSPAN last night. He thinks we are returning to ism’s.... He is definetly comfortable with himself. No interest in politics now, NONE.
did w explain why he let paulson accelerate “the banking crisis”?
Alas my opinions of the Bush family have always been, "Well Bush I was better than Dukakis and Clinton and Bush II was better than Gore and Kerry."
So, this latest speech does nothing to change that opinion.
I haven’t found any sort of link so far, but Laura Ingraham is still discussing it. Maybe there is or will be a link at C-Span.
All I've heard are the excerpts on Laura Ingraham's show, and that is more than enough. Have only heard comments about immigration. Not sure if he covered other topics in his speech.

That you Loeghner?
Not sure if this is what you’re looking for.
Here are excerpts from interview on Fri. CSPAN aired the entire piece on Sunday, but hasn’t posted the entire thing yet.
During the last 10 years, some of the Bush worship on this FR site was downright idolatrous......
These remarks on immigration and the opposition to CIR are worse, more insulting than anything he said during 2007 when the topic was at its hottest.
Jeb’s pushing amnesty lately and now W is at it again.
And Barbara, Jr. favors gay marriage.
We continue to learn more about the ‘real’ Bush family.
Not able to listen, now. Is Ingraham for GWB speech at SMU or against? (GWB pun sorta intended :)
Very true. If the content of this speech is played very widely, it'll disabuse a few more of their illusions. I was never a big fan of either Bush, but W was better than Gore or Kerry (but not as much better as we might have thought in the past).
“but he also condemns isolationism, protectionism and nativism”
What about anti-Islamic hate mongering? /S
She's pretty fired up about it: against. It's basically a string of insults to anyone who opposes his ideas on immigration, amnesty, the southern border, etc. And he repeats all the old: "Doing jobs Americans won't do" type phrases and actually expands on them.
Look, I always liked Bush, liked him a lot. I am a supporter and charter member of his library.
He suffered from idealism, in that he thought arab countries could become democracies. Well, maybe in a thousand years.
He is also sympathetic to Mexicans.
But I’m not gonna have a knee jerk reaction to some excerpts posted on the main stream media. You know that they do, and yet you jump to their bidding.
Haven't heard anything on that subject, but I've only heard the excerpts played by Laura Ingraham.
The voodoo Republican establishment will throw in every resource they have, and call in every favor they can, to maintain the status quo which they have helped to create and wish to maintain with their fellow franchise owners and business partners, the Democrats.
We are the only ones with the will and ability to defeat them.
This struggle will not be easy, but it can be won, and must be won, or we will surely slide into the centuries old norm of vassalage.
Laura Ingraham is playing the actual audio. I'm surprised there are no news articles or audio or video clips of the speech available yet.
But what's been reflected here so far doesn't adequately describe how insulting most opponents of Bush's amnesty schemes would find the remarks.
I hope these remarks will be distributed and heard widely very soon.
