Doing fine. Left work earlier (to the chagrin of my micro-manger boss!). Got home and the initial snow is being blown off the driveway. I’ll get the GW-blower out about 20:00 for the first of what I expect will be three passes in the next 12 hours.
I told the local EMA that I’d help man the Emergency Operations Center from 0:00 - 04:00.
Head to the “Blizzard Thread” to stay abreast of the storm. We are up to 320+ posts.

Here on Colorado’s western slope, the snow missed us but the cold is here. 2 degrees and headed near -30 tonight. Getting my light bulbs and blankets ready for the vehicles in the garage. I don’t need any frozen batteries in case it gets colder than expected.
Good luck to all you folks to the east of us.
We’ve gotten 5 or 6 so far in SE Iowa with a big dumping on the way. Indiana and Illinois look like they’re getting it the worst heavy snow to the north and ice to the south on top of what they got yesterday.
12”,35 MPH and 8 degrees in Oklahoma City.
Periods of lesser snow fall...and higher winds. Drifts 4 ft. tall on my patio.
That is all........
My daughter sent pics from central Illinois this morning. Everything covered with ice and still coming down.
Chicago is one of the cleanest big cities in the country.
Here in Shawnee area Pete. My fire hydrant just disappeared. How tall are those things? Unrelenting wind just roaring through here. Looks like 12 inches so far on my deck; but hard to tell with all the drifting due to the winds. Sometimes I can see across the street, sometimes I can’t. Bitter cold wind. Hard to close a door once it is opened.
Yes I am in Troy,Illinois and we have gotten several inches of ice throughout the day. Not too much happening right now. My daughter is 8 months pregnant so her husband put my car,an expendable Dodge Neon, at the bottom of the hill just in case they had to get to a hospital. I am not really up on delivering babies at home.
South Central Wisconsin.
16.5°F - 12 mph winds, gusts to 30 mph (Wind Chill -2°F).
2 feet of snow on the ground. Not snowing at the moment.
Just another day in God’s Country.
Be safe all.
This is the guy who says that its millions of degrees 2 kilometers beneath the surface of the Earth.
Those miners in South America mustve had some heavy duty asbestos suits on to withstand temps hotter than the surface of the Sun for all those weeks!
;-)
Next, the Climate Alarmists bring out the chicken bones to predict the future and go to a Mayan false deity church. I wonder how theyll get along after the self-imposed water ban they signed the petition for in Cancun???
I wonder if the Globull Warming scammers are observing the no breathing law that the EPA has come up with. No CO2 allowed, you know
Thanks.
Man you guys got whacked with ice two days in a row.
Stay safe, all you snowmen and women. Hope you bought the three “Whites” to tough out the storm: toilet paper, milk and a loaf of white honky bread.
Currently it is 32 with wind chill of 23.
Here in North Texas near the Red River it was 43 at midnight and is now 18 with about 2 inches of snow pellets on the ground which are usually gone within hours. Probably be here for a couple of days if one believes the forecasts. Hard to believe I was having a Mart on the front porch Saturday night...
My sweetie in Chicago just called me. In between &%)@!*$ ??? words, he has been on the road for 3 hours trying to travel from Englewood (S. Side) to Evanston (N). He is on Lake Shore and said all you can see are the tail lights in front of you. Looks like they are going to close Lake Shore at some point. Problem is, this storm came in a couple hours earlier than they thought, and thus, did not send people home early enough. He has water with him, but is starving...no snacks in car. No idea when he will get home.
Here in St. George UT (SWmost corner of Utah, at the AZ border), even we’re getting a bit of weather here. Don’t let the sunshine fool you, when you open the door the winds are absolutely howling. Must be 40mph or so. We’ve gone down at least 30+ degrees.
