Albequerue, NM - January 31, 2011) New Mexico governor Susana Martinez (R) said Monday that New Mexico is no longer an illegal immigrant sanctuary state, issuing an order to officially reverse the state's status. Ms. Martinez ordered the reversal of the state's "sanctuary status" - put in place by former Gov. Bill Richardson (D), which prohibited law enforcement from asking criminal suspects about their citizenship. The move aligns the state with Arizona, which passed a law mandating officials inquire about an individual's immigration status.
You know she did the right thing by watching this hilariously biased news report, as well as the panicked response of the state's illegal alien advocates. God bless you, Governor Susana Martinez!

What’s the problem? It’s not like they’re going to be walking up to a Hispanic kid walking down the street and asking him for his papers.
She is for cutting taxes, limiting government , and against illegals.
She is also Hispanic and Republican. Can’t beat those Republicans.
Martinez should be President of the U.s.
Its very early in the game for her but so far I really like what I see (her policies, of course . . .) If she cuts spending and is tough on illegal immigration, she will definitely have a future in national politics.

I really like her. I liked her before the election. Her campaign ad was one of the best in 2010. Her opponent had a female citizen signing her opponent’s praises. Suzanne did a rebuttal commercial. She said the woman looked familiar. She had put her husband in jail for kidnapping.
I guess they can go to California, Portland or Seattle.
“Ms. Martinez” is Governor Martinez.
Contrary to popular belief, many Hispanic Americans are staunchly opposed to amnesty and illegal immigration.

One thing that bothers me is that Freepers never realize that the sanctuary policy doesn’t apply only to Hispanics (who seem to be widely hated on FR, unfortunately) but to Africans, Chinese, Middle Easterners and the many other illegal immigrants we have here.
Declaring your state/city/whatever a “sanctuary” meant not only that you were going to get lots of would-be gardeners from Mexico, but lots of illegal Chinese sex slaves, Bosnian drug dealers, Muslim terrorists, etc.
I think this point needs to be stressed.

Spot On. That point is often lost in the discussion. I suspect a lot of pro-sanctuary types forget that as well.
