“Detroit was probably the wealthiest city in the world, or one of the two or three wealthiest) up to about the early 1960s.”
- Around 1950, most inhabitants of LA lived in a house sooner than dwelling in a tenant area like those found in Detroit or Chicago.
Everyone living in Michael Moore Land at that time wasn’t a well paid unionist.
“The author obviously doesnt have a great grasp of the world outside of Sweden”
- You forgot upon the quod erat demonstrandum part of it all.
(The “quod erat demonstrandum” is a Latin phrase invented outside of Sweden, in this particular case meaning you probably don’t know what you’re on about.)
Being the wealthiest city obviously doesn’t mean that everyone was a member of the UAW. The auto manufacturing boom after WWII spread vast amounts of money far and wide in Detroit. By the way, your odd insertion of a latin phrase is a non sequitur ;-)
