PPP: Obama leads Palin by eight … in South Dakota?

I’m highly skeptical — this is a state the GOP’s won in every election since 1964 — but their sample doesn’t seem obviously skewed to me. The partisan breakdown is 48R/38D/14I; the sample in the state’s 2008 exit poll on election day was 42R/36D/22I. If anything, PPP skewed too heavily towards Republicans. The ideological sample is similarly in line. For PPP, it’s 43 percent conservative, 44 percent moderate, and 13 percent liberal. In 2008 on election day, the exit poll had it 35 percent conservative, 50 percent moderate, and 15 percent liberal. Again, PPP’s numbers tilt against Obama. And their polling of hypothetical Romney/Obama and Huckabee/Obama races seems credible. Mitt leads 46/40 and Huck leads 47/41 in a state McCain won by eight points.

"Good luck with your Palin bashing and lasting on freerepublic.com"

You've been here for about 3 months, and the person you were saying this to has been here for the better part of 10 years. I just don't know where to start on that one. LOL It makes you come off as being arrogant, that's for sure....

Also, he was hardly "Palin bashing". Someone giving their honest assessment as to whether or not a candidate can win is hardly "bashing". You're just upset because you don't agree with him.

I am actually. I fear that the republicans may focus more on the Senatorial elections, and concede the presidential election(similar to how 1996 was handled).

Let’s face it: a small state candidate has NO chance. AK has only 3 electoral votes and Palin doesn’t bring much to her party. Unless she moves to a medium or large sized state in the meantime.

Those are the political facts of life.

No, he’s upset because Jim Robinson openly supports Sarah Palin and encourages her to run for President. Palin is a bona-fide Conservative. This is a Conservative website. The honest assessment is that it is weird for a poster to bash a Conservative on a Conservative website on a daily basis.

You think whoever the GOP runs will be a longshot against OBAMA? Are you kidding me? We should easily win this, unless we put up the wrong person..And I’ll give you one guess who that person is. SHE JUST CAN’T WIN. There isn’t one other person in the whole Republican party who can be President? REALLY? She’s good at what she does...needling the libs and keeping Republicans to the right. But she will never be President. She won’t.

It doesn’t necessarily need to be a longshot. It won’t be a longshot, either, if the right person is nominated. You cannot have everything. Otherwise, OMG, we are DONE. Stick a fork in us and twist it around.

Finally....you’ve convinced everyone that Sarah Palin isn’t going to run, nor is she going to be the Republican Nominee.

I am going to give you a pass on that one because I just don't believe that when you say "SHE" you are referring to HER. That just can't be.

This was nothing but a push poll for John Thune. In South Dakota. Hello.

In the poll, Thune leads Obama by 20. But if Palin beats Thune for the nomination, it would swing by 28 points and Palin would LOSE by 8. Feet stomping poor sports.

LOL!!!

Pissy has been getting away with far too much, far too often these days. He trolls Palin threads like McGinniss on hormones.

And this poll is poo.

Every two years before an Presidential election, folks on both sides of the aisle hyperventilate on poling data which never predicted any outcome on the primaries or general election - some here on FR feed and live off of these polls and there is nothing you can do to convince them otherwise!

Look at Huckabee, He is leading in a lot of polls but no one is pouring money into his PAC to support him - How can that be? Wouldn’t more people who favor him as the nominee be more likely to give money for his cause? No, his name is a placeholder for many people who may haven’t engaged in the process of seriously looking over candidates yet but who are told Sarah can’t win (both are vying for the same voter)

Sarah on the meanwhile is dumped in the polls but has amassed a record breaking number of small donations that is wide and deep....polls are meaningless

"The honest assessment is that it is weird for a poster to bash a Conservative on a Conservative website on a daily basis."

This is a situation where a primary is about to take place. There's more than one candidate on our side to choose from, and more than one conservative. In addition to where candidates are regarding the issues, one must also factor in what their chances would be for winning the general election. People don't always agree. I could understand your case if it were a general election - Palin vs 0bama, and pissant were talking down Palin, but that isn't the case at all right now. Honestly, I don't have a good feeling about ANY of the candidates we are hearing most about in the media right now. I hope some more folks step up to give us more options. This could turn into 2008 all over again, with a bunch of RINOs running and two or three conservatives. The RINOs quickly lined up behind McCain, and the conservative vote got split up. One things for damn sure... We MUST have closed primaries this time around, or we'll get another RINO, and Hussein will get another term.

PPP is Kos’s pollster

That's all we need to know about this poll. We will not let the media pick our candidate.

Run Sarah Run!
