House GOP Readies Ban on EPA Greenhouse Gas Regulations
Published February 02, 2011
Associated Press

WASHINGTON – In a sharp challenge to the Obama administration, House Republicans intend to unveil legislation Wednesday to ban the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act and expect to advance the bill quickly, officials disclosed Tuesday night.

The officials said the bill would nullify all of the steps the EPA has taken to date on the issue, including a threshold finding that greenhouse gases constitute a danger to the public health and welfare.

In addition, it seeks to strip the agency of its authority to use the law in any future attempts to crack down on the emissions from factories, utilities and other stationary sources.

It will be vetoed and the Executive Regulation will become etched in granite.

To defeat the EPA, the President must be someone else.

The need to get out the statistic that man-produced CO2 only accounts for 0.117% of the greenhouse effect.

That’s like one person in a thousand shouting in an auditorium,
and the left singling him out for making too much noise.

Obviously, you’d think there’s an agenda behind going after that one person.

I understand your point, but I think it’s CO (carbon monoxide) that comes out of a tailpipe, not CO2 (carbon dioxide). Guess one of the most prevalent mobile sources of CO2 would be...US - humans! LOL

Why did you omit the “In addition ...” that leads off the sentence you excerpted from. Bits are cheap. At least quote the whole sentence.

The link doesn't work anymore for the story.

It's true, though, isn't it? They really are going to do this, right?

PS: I am quite certain that there is a Santa Claus, too...

Thanks for the ping, ernest_at_the_beach.

The president might veto it unless faced with the unpleasant prospect of congress simply not funding the EPA...then the president would be forced to veto the entire budget.

I’ll believe it when Congress declares CO2 a non pollutant.

They should declare it a protected gas. An essential element of life and irreplaceable plant food. Make it a Federal felony to destroy CO2 with an exemption for respiration. ;^)
