I liked when the IL tollway started accepting EZ Pass in 2006 or 2007, so that when I drove it on the way to the Pacific Northwest, I didn’t have to queue up in the cash lanes.
Could be worse, I was driving in Illinois in a rental car and exited off a highway only to find a small toll station on the ramp itself. It only took exact change in a basket and I almost never carry cash. Fortunately after digging through my pockets I was able to come up with enough lose change to lift the gate and let me out!
