FRESH CONDEMNATION: Briefing reporters on Air Force One, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs condemned the arrests of journalists in Egypt, calling for the release of foreign reporters. He says President Obama was briefed on the matter today, according to the radio pool.
Gibbs called the treatment of journalists “completely and totally unacceptable.”
He also said the White House hopes the new prime minister there keeps his promise to hold accountable those who are responsible for the violence in the streets.

Sa’dallah Zara’i, a member of the editorial board of the Iranian daily Kayhan, said at a conference on “From the Fall of Dictators to the Emergence of a Single Nation” that Israel would survive for one year from the date of the fall of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
In Saudi Arabia, he said, there would be a coup that would topple King Abdallah within six months, and coups were also expected in Jordan, Algeria, and Morocco.
Zara’i praised the Muslim Brotherhood, which has spread out from its beginnings in Egypt to 17 Arab countries, and taken control of three governments in the Islamic world.
He said that the Western countries did not share the U.S.’s position that Mohamed ElBaradei would replace Mubarak.
