President Mubarak's vision is comprised of a comprehensive electoral platform. The platform has six main programs, each addressing a specific concern for the people of Egypt.

  

• Political Reform Program
  

This program is considered one of the highlights of the Mubarak electoral platform and details a series of political reforms which will take place over the next six years.

  

• Employment Program: "Our Youth Will Work"
  

The program is a clear, straightforward commitment to create 4.5 million new sustainable jobs over the next 6 years.

  

• Improving Standards of Living
  

The program entitles a series of 12 projects related to housing, education, health care, transportation and infrastructure, access to clean water and sewage system networks, and developing squatter settlements.

  

• Social Security Program
  

The fourth program focuses on ensuring a better income for all. The platform, as a whole, is committed to building a fairer and more inclusive society in which everyone can contribute to and benefit from economic prosperity.

  

• Middle Class Program: "Closer to the Middle Class"
  

The fifth program is devoted to meeting the demands and the needs of the middle class, a major engine for growth and progress in any society.

  

• Foreign Policy Program:
  

1. Supporting the Palestinian State
  

Supporting the establishment of state institutions:
  

* Continuing to restructure the framework for security institutions, including training of elements of the Palestinian security forces.
   * Increasing the technical and professional training available to Palestinian leaders in the economic sectors.
   * Providing the necessary technical expertise to help the Palestinian Authority draft the main economic reform legislations.

  

Rebuilding the Palestinian economy:
  

* Establishing an Egyptian-Palestinian business council to support economic co-operation between the two sides.
   * Facilitating the entrance of Palestinian goods into the Egyptian market
   * Establishing a joint industrial zone in Raffah and encouraging Egyptian contracting companies to work on reconstruction projects in Gaza.
   * Increasing the number of scholarships offered to Palestinians in Egyptian universities.

  

Supporting the Palestinian people:
  

* Facilitating the travel of Palestinians to and from Egypt
   * Increasing Egyptian financial aid to the Palestinian Authority
   * Increasing Egypt's contribution to both "Jerusalem" and "Al-Aqsa" funds by $ 11 million.

  

2. Integration with Sudan
  

Developing Egypt's political role in Sudan
  

* Intensifying Egyptian efforts to help implement the peace agreement between North and South Sudan.
   * Supporting the Egyptian monitoring delegation in Darfur as part of the African Union's military monitoring delegation.
   * Reinforcing the role of Egyptian mediation to ease tensions in Eastern Sudan.
   * Continuing to cooperate with the Sudanese government to complete the implementation of the "Four Freedoms" agreement with Egypt., which include ownership, movement, work and residence.

  

Promoting integration projects between Sudan and Egypt
  

* Completing road networks between the two countries, including the coastal road of Port Sudan-Suez, the Abu Simbel–Kastal–Wadi Halfa routes and the Nile route of Wadi Halfa-Dankala.
  

* The full mutual implementation of the free trade agreement with Sudan in accordance with the COMESA agreement.
   * Working with the Sudanese government to encourage trade between the countries and to import basic necessities for the Egyptian market.

  

Increasing Egypt's role in the reconstruction of South Sudan
  

* Enhancing the resources of the African Technical Co-operation Fund to implement more reconstruction projects in the south.
   * Financing several projects in South Sudan as a contribution to the reconstruction effort.
   * Establishing an Egyptian consulate in Juba (the capital of the South) to support contact and dialogue between Sudan's southern people and Egypt.
   * Increasing the number of Egyptian troops in the UN peace keeping forces.

  

3. Supporting Iraq to safeguard its stability and national unity
  

* Increasing communication with the different political factions in Iraq to ensure the successful evolution of the political process according to UN resolution 1546.
   * Offering Egyptian expertise in building state institutions and training members of Iraqi ministries and authorities.
   * Reinvigorating the joint Egyptian-Iraqi committee with the goal of increasing economic activities between the two countries.

  

4. Enhancing Arab Unity
  

Greater Arab Free Trade Area
  

* Co-operation with Arab countries to reach a detailed consensus for laying the foundations to establish a customs union.

  

Developing the Arab League
  

* Working towards developing the Arab league to modernize the voting system, re-invigorate the implementation of Arab Summit decisions, and establish an Arab Parliament.
   * Develop the League's relationship with Arab organizations in civil society.
   * Increasing the role of the Arab League in the social and cultural arenas.

  

5. Deepening economic and trade co-operation with powerhouse economies to benefit the Egyptian economy
  

· Launching negotiations for an Egypt-US Free Trade Agreement (FTA)
  

· Renegotiating the permitted amount of Egyptian exports within the framework of the Euro-Med Partnership Agreement.
  

· Increasing the number of QIZ zones to include new areas, to encourage greater Egyptian exports to the US market.

  

6. Increasing Egypt's role in the African continent
  

· Continued contribution to peace keeping operations in times of tension.
  

· Working towards establishing a strategic dialogue with the key countries in the continent to find solutions for African problems and support three-party talks between Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia.
  

· Working towards expanding the free trade area within the context of the COMSESA agreement including the unification of customs procedures with the aim of establishing a customs union by 2008.
  

· Accelerating negotiations to sign free trade agreements with Nigeria and Tanzania.
  

· Accelerating negotiations to establish a new legal and institutional framework for co-cooperation between the Nile countries while protecting Egyptian interests.

  

Increasing the number of Egyptian military scholarships for African countries, especially the Nile countries.

DUring this period Mubarak rammed through constitutional changes in 5 days to block the Muslim Brotherhood from ballot access.

Just today the torturer Suliaman was on EgyptTV claiming the Mubarak regime needs 70 days to change the constitution.

The US government is backing a murderous sociopath that is hated widely throughout the Arab world.

NO matter if Egypt synthesizes a stable government from this crisis, the US is going to lose , and lose big... in the mid term and long term.

I'm sure the webpage has little connection to reality. It is interesting that they chose leftist rhetoric to sell him. I suspect that any society that falls for that sort of thing is the same sort of society that may find itself enslaved by an oppressive government - .

I don't think our government is supporting Mubarak. It looks like the community organizer in charge of our executive branch of government is supporting the Muslim Brotherhood.
