I have decided that if there is a run on the banks or some other sign of imminent collapse I will go to the local restaurant supply and buy bags of rice and beans. Then I will have my employees re-bag such commodities in 1/4, 1/2, and 1 pound bags. Presto, the new currency!
Of course, I have other food, but it is packed for 100 year storage. Don’t want to part with that until absolutely required.
By then it will be too late. Do you suppose that the employees of those places will be around waiting for you? Or do you suppose that they may, just may, grab what they can and scoot?
But you've given me an idea and for that I thank you. I think I'll pick up another 25 pounds of staples and rebag them as you suggested. I'll toss some of those oxygen absorbers in them, heat seal them and put them away for a rainy day.
Best,
L
