Yeah "fairly" and "grave" should not be used in the same sentence to describe the same subject.

Kinda reminds me of "a little bit pregnant."

Wasn’t Olaf Wiig the Fox photographer that was held hostage by the palestinians or someone, too?

Yes, FOX News correspondent Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig were kidnapped and held hostage in Gaza City for two weeks in 2006.

"Palkot is the epitome of a professional journalist. He is by no stretch of the imagination a provoker nor an agitator."

Unfortunately, in the middle of a riot, those whose side is being trashed by the majaority of the media don't have the luxury of being able to sort out the good journalists from the ones acting as PR arm for the MB. At this point I think all journalists are considered enemy combatants. (and many essentially are)

I thought so. Olaf really gets around.

I hope he thinks his career is worth it. Reports are he has a broken jaw now.

Thanks for the info.

Where is Katie Couric? I bet hunkered down in a safe place somewhere or she got out of Egypt already. Does anyone know?

She is, in solidarity, watching TV in the Hamptons.

That’s what happens when you see one or two million protestors in a nations capital then immediately declare world wide that those one or two million speak for a nation of 83 million people!!!

That statement is so true. Only yesterday, when the violence broke out, there were only a few thousand people in the Square. Most Egyptians were home protecting their families and property. Anderson Cooper doing what he does best. Throwing himself into a chaotic situation and reporting his biased opinion as fact. Trying to write the story the way he sees it.

I hate to say this, but I feel that the media has focused on that Tahir Square in Cairo in a bid to make us believe that the revolution was widepsread. That Square was the only place that the 0.25% of the Egyptian people who are protestors had to be to get covered. Now the counter-revoltuinaries are taking away the witnesses and are going to “punish” the revolutionaries.

The blood of the dead protestors is going to be on the hands of the media as well as the counter-revolutionaries. Their inability to give an honest portrayal of the protests will hurt the push for freedom in Egypt for a long time.

“These people are simply America-hating nutjobs who will be BAD for the global scene when they get their Caliphate they desire.”

Yes, and it doesn’t matter which “side” they are coming from...

It really isn’t clear who these people are and it would be a good propaganda tool to say you support one cause and actually have your own agenda.

Best reported from a distance.

Fox decided early on to side with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Having chosen to become combatants they can expect to be targeted.

I was listening to an interview this morning (9am 1210AM)with a CBS reporter who lives in Egpyt and speaks Arabic fluently. He had been raising a red flag for his bosses stateside that something serious was happening, over a month ago, and was ignored. He sounded very credible. He says that when he compares what he hears and sees on the streets vs. what is being reported, it is clear that foreign reporters have an agenda they are trying to push.

Absolutely. But just like here at home.... they are reporting the story in a way that protects obama and the side he chose. It's all about having obama's back with the MSM.

This is a cynical comment but I believe these newsies are trying to one up each other.

I think the news executives are making bets on the side as to who can provide the best beating footage of their man/woman/crew.

Shep is having a Katrina moment. Boo hoo.

One reporter is roughed up so turn Egypt over to Islamic terrorists. What a jerk.

Shep and BOR are the weak links. Better any Fox blonde as anchors than them.

I am convinced that this revolution was ginned-up to be the world's first "made for TV" revolution...but it has now blown up in 0bama and the media's face.

I am also convinced that 0bama was going to use this revolution as a part his 2012 election. I could envision him making a trip to Cairo in the late summer of 2012 (with full media cobverage) to receive accolades for 'freeing 80 million downtrodden Egyptians'.
