It seems the compressor stations can’t compress the gas w/o electricity.

You can thank the EPA for that. The natural gas pipeline industry traditionally used natural gas engines or turbines as pipeline compressor drives. However, with the tightening of emission regulations, it became much more attractive to use electric compressor drives about five to ten years ago!!!

So government regulations screwed up the process again? What are the odds, out side of 100% DYSFUNCTION.
